What the hell is Google Alert!?

No comments February 28th, 2009 No comments

google-alert This handy service from google, what it does is inform us of new search results for a given criterion.

That is, every time someone "talk" about something that interests me google tells me Mr.?
Sure chango!

Every time Google indexed (added to their database) applies pages searches for " Google Alerts "and if found something related to the criteria that will let us back a mail (now RSS ), the frequency is three: "A per day "," Once a week "or" In the event, "and we have 3 types of alerts:" Web "," News "," Groups "or" Comprehensive "(which are the 3 options above).

So for that we use this?, To track a subject and so many people talking, to see how the competition is doing, or to see how we impact us on the internet! hehe :) .

As an example, I have my alerts to "eltecnoloco" and another with "trucacho" (among many others), then every time someone talks about any of these words, I received an email telling me where I speak. When the monkey fedepasifico published the trucacho Taringa , this was the warning I received mail:

google-alert-trucacho

Well, I hope that this simple yet powerful tool will be useful to track topics that most interest them.
