This handy service from google, what it does is inform us of new search results for a given criterion.
That is, every time someone "talk" about something that interests me google tells me Mr.?
Sure chango!
Every time Google indexed (added to their database) applies pages searches for " Google Alerts "and if found something related to the criteria that will let us back a mail (now RSS ), the frequency is three: "A per day "," Once a week "or" In the event, "and we have 3 types of alerts:" Web "," News "," Groups "or" Comprehensive "(which are the 3 options above).
So for that we use this?, To track a subject and so many people talking, to see how the competition is doing, or to see how we impact us on the internet! hehe
.
As an example, I have my alerts to "eltecnoloco" and another with "trucacho" (among many others), then every time someone talks about any of these words, I received an email telling me where I speak. When the monkey fedepasifico published the trucacho Taringa , this was the warning I received mail:

Well, I hope that this simple yet powerful tool will be useful to track topics that most interest them.

"Clarin.com, taringa.net, lanacion.com.ar, minutouno.com, ole.com.ar"

The intention of this?
Knowing trends! chango!
Knowing that is what people want more! and knowing those needs is possible to generate products to cover (MUEJEJE), imagine a marketing department would cunts with a tool like this!
It may even be useful if we are not sure any synonym, and we can put the searches made by people (ie free or free)
The only drawback it has is that they are not absolute, otherwise relative to the first comparator, thereby compare the first term will always have the value 1, the value of the remaining terms are relative units the first (basically a multiplier)
Like everything in google minimalist to the extreme, to execute a query just type up to 5 terms / words separated by commas.
Let's take a very practical example in order to understand the potential
Look and compare the number of times they were searched for the words
"Sarah Palin, Obama, McCain"

The question is: "as you know?"
"Knows" through a toolbar (toolbar) install IE or firefox with extensions such as " SearchStatus "," Alexa Sparky (official) , "and other more , keep in mind that this keeps our record and sends it to them, if you got no problem with that (the time you entered youporn or bank account) may be useful to have it installed.
